Hugh Grant to launch Burntwood CFR’s new rapid response car

(2nd May 2014) – Today Hugh Grant (yes, the Hugh Grant) will unveil the Burntwood and District Community First Responders (CFRs) new rapid response car in front of an invited audience.

The Burntwood CFRs are a group of volunteers who respond to emergency calls before the ambulance arrives and their treatment can sometimes make the difference between life and death.

CFR-stand-and-DavidAs the service is run solely by volunteers they rely on public donations for everything, including; driver training, uniform, bandages, fuel, insurance and even their response car.

Over the past few months the CFRs have carried out numerous fundraising events to raise money for their new car. Events, public donations and grants from the National Lottery Fund and Staffordshire County Council have helped them to reach their goal.

Last year we donated our time to brand the CFRs and create an exhibition stand and a leaflet to help them with their fundraising. For their launch event we have created a pull-up banner which will stand in the entrance to the marquee.

We’re looking forward to the event and are so pleased that the CFRs have been able to raise the money they need for a new response car.
