The Marketing Dogs – February News

Marketing dogs february news

Nihao humans, Chops here, with the full tail from February.

It’s been a busy month for us marketing dogs, we’ve broken unbreakable toys, we’ve increased our door patrol by almost 25% more barks and we’ve broken our record for laps around the office.

So as you can imagine we’ve had to take lots of snoozes and eat some treats to reward us for all our hard work. Especially when we’ve had to trudge through the rain. Mum had to allow us the day off the other day, as we refused to put a paw out in the downpour. We’re convinced we would have had to doggy paddle all the way to the office! So we stayed curled up instead, and used our energy at the office the next day for a more productive day.

We’ve been feeling the love this month, what with Valentine’s just gone. Sammy especially has been exceptionally loving to everyone in the office.

So for valentines, I thought I would look to treat my other pawed pals with a special gift, and I didn’t realise there was so much choice for doggy (or cat!) valentines!

For Sammy I think I will look at some personalised valentines dog treats, because she is our little diva, who is fussy, but loves treats, and will definitely love it if they are all hers!

We all know George is a bit of a fashionista, so I think I may get him this personalised neck scarf to match one of his coats, and keep him warm on our walks. It will be something new for him to strut in front of all of the human’s clients.

For the humans, I want to remind them how much we all love them, so maybe these new dog bowls might do the trick?

And for me? Well I think mum should really splash out and get me this cupcake case bed, because I think we can all agree how cute I would look as a cupcake. Maybe next year …

We definitely all agree that we would have loved some valentine’s gifts! But I think we would wag our tail just as much at an extra treat or a big hug as we would a pricey expensive personalised cushion.

I’m off to train Sammy on some blog writing for next month’s blog, because as we all know I’m great at training.

Now how do you press send on this mac?

The Marketing Dogs Need You!

the marketing dogs need you

the marketing dogs need you

We need your help.

We know the humans wouldn’t function at work without us. We think we are certainly the most professional, happy, cuddly, four pawed bosses assistants out there.

But we know some of our pet pals have to help their humans throughout the day too. With the general stuff, you know like helping them empty the bin, alerting them to intruders and helping them eat their lunch.

We’d love to hear your stories though, just to remind the humans of how much we really do for them. It doesn’t have to be much, just a little on your daily routine, the best part of your day or your favourite human to distract help from 9 till 5.

So please send us your pictures, and what you’ve been up to in the office, to one of our humans Lauren (lauren.keeling@themarketingpeople.com) or tweet us @TheMrketingDogs and we’ll pop it in our next doggy blog, showcasing your skills, and mentioning your humans company too!

In the meantime, take a look at how we’ve helped humans with advice on SEO, strategy, exhibitions, blogging, and lots of other great tips, in our Marketing Dogs Blog.

Must dash, the dog and bone’s going! Speak soon.

Dogs on Show at Bingley Hall

dogs on show at bingley hall

dogs on show at bingley hall

We had a trip to Bingley Hall this weekend as spectators at the Stafford District Canine Society dog show.

It was our furst time at an event like this and wow what a day. There were six show rings where all manner of different dogs paraded themselves after being primped and preened for days by their humans.

The pugs were in ring 6 and I have to say all looked fabulous. Apparently I’m classed as a toy dog, well I’m a real dog I can tell you! The Frenchie’s not looking too shabby either strutted their furry stuff in ring five and are classed as utility dogs. Dobermans and Rottweilers are also classed as utility dogs so George was feeling particularly hench.

It was all in the preparation. Having chats with fellow four legged friends and their humans it seems they spend days preparing, bathing, trimming, brushing and pampering. They also attend some strange sounding place called ring classes which helps you to walk on a lead properly and stand like a champion. Some dogs we spoke to say they have been in training and preparing from 8 weeks old.

Well I`ve decided that rolling in the mud and other unmentionable smelly stuff is much more fun although George believes with his pedigree that a Crufts trophy should surely fall at his paws.

You can’t get anywhere without preparation and planning, so if you need a paw with planning and preparing your marketing pick up the dog and bone or bark us an email and we will get the humans to have a chat with you.

Barking in the boardroom; it’s a dogs life!

Bonjour et nihao Humans,

I don’t know about you, but we’ve had a busy day today; Gareth, Lauren and Laura from Morgan Signs & Design have been in talking about digital marketing and social media.

Our good furiends at Morgan Signs & Design design manufacture, install, maintain and renovate signs for pubs, restaurants, hotels, shops, businesses and more. (Which reminds us, we must send Gareth an email asking if he can create us a sign for the kitchen saying ‘No Cats Allowed’, that’s our bedroom cats!)

The humans had a chat with them about how they could help them with their digital and printed marketing material and are now looking into creating both printed and digital brochures and newsletters fur them.

For those of you who don’t remember the great print is dead debate of 2012, both of us have strong feelings towards print and digital. Chops favours printed marketing material, while I prefer digital marketing material so I can view it on my iBone.

Being furry and clued up, once the conversation moved to social media we were able to take ofur and talk to them about how social media could help their business.

A couple of weeks ago we created a LinkedIn Company Page for Morgan Signs & Design and after todays bark, we are planning to design, develop and build a blog which is integrated into their existing website and help them manage their blog.

Of course, when we say we’re going to do it, we mean we’re going to delegate the task to the Humans and take up a supervisory role.

Once we’d set them straight on social media, things got more serious as we turned to the topic of office pets.

We’ve been told that they have an office goldfish (zzzzzz) and Lauren and Laura feel they need something a bit furrier and woofier in the office.

We sat Gareth down and had a furry serious conversation with him about the benefits of office dogs. In fact, that’s what we’re doing in the picture above; we put on our best puppy dog eyes, tried our best to stop moulting for a minute and looked adorable.

It was lovely to meet Gareth, Lauren and Laura and we would like to extend our paws and them them for their time and the tasty treats and hope they got something out of it, other than dog slobber and fur. We look paward, oops forward, to seeing them soon and there better be a dog in tow next time!

Now if you’ll excuse us, we’re going to snore very loudly.

Love and licks,
George & Chops

P.S Gareth, when you get your office dog, you can bring him or her to us for office dog training where we will be able to teach your new recruit how to;
– Snore all day
– Bark at the postman
– Empty the dustbins
– Ride chairs
– Clean up leftover lunch

Best of all, it will only cost you a chewy bone…each.

Ni hao, Chops here.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been snoozing in bed and heard the Humans talking about going out for lunch. I laughed to myself and wondered why anyone would want to move at lunchtime when they could stay all cosy.

Today though, I was feeling curious and energetic and decided to find out what going out fur lunch is really about.

It’s like a walk, but at lunch time! What a pawesome idea. Best of all I came across a blackberry bush and started chomping right off the bush, no need to wait fur the Humans to put it in a bowl fur me!

The Humans thought it was quite funny and filmed me eating my lunch (appawrently there’s a social network dedicated to taking pictures of food!) and put it on our YouTube channel.

I quite like the idea of going out fur lunch now, I’m not sure where the Humans go though because I couldn’t see any of them eating blackberries, just as well, that’s my food now.

What do you do fur lunch?

Love and licks,

Chops

The Marketing Dogs Have A New BFF

the marketing dogs have a new bff

the marketing dogs have a new bff

Ni Hao humans,

We’ve been quite busy this morning in a meeting with one of our new clients, Protect and Serve.

Rob from Protect and Serve brought his 15 week old English Bulldog puppy Rocky in to come and talk to us and the humans about the companies branding, brochure, stationery and website.

We like Rocky a lot, he’s our EBBFF (English Bulldog Best Friend Forever) and he was certainly a hit with the humans, who kept stealing him for cuddles when we were trying to be really professional and talk about branding and brochure design!

Rocky’s only a pup, so George and I are looking forward to having lots of meetings with him to play with him and impart our marketing, print and creative design wisdom and knowledge so he can help Protect and Serve move forward.

If you work local to our office in the Burntwood,Lichfield or Staffordshire area, we’d love it if you brought your furry friends to the studio with you so we could meet them.

Remember that if you need assistance with your marketing or creative design, get in touch with The Marketing People. You can either call our humans direct on 01543 387 047 or drop us an email at georgeandchops@themarketingpeople.com and we’ll pass a message on.

For business cards, brochures, event stands and other printed marketing or communications material drop me an email, and for online web and digital talk to George!

Paws and licks,

Chops.

Chops: Pug Of Many Talents

Hi everyone,
As you can see I’m absolutely shattered, it’s really not easy being a Marketing Dog. Today I’ve been doing two dog’s jobs and filling in for a human!

First of all, George went in for his operation this morning and one of the graphic designers was off, so I had to fill in for both of them.

I spent the morning rushed off my paws trying to put the final touches to a brochure before it went to print.
I then spent the afternoon picking up George’s slack, creating some landing pages. I think I did a good job, better than George I reckon, but don’t tell him that.

We’ve just heard from the vets; George’s operation went well and apparently his barks going to be even louder now, great.
I do miss him, I can’t wait until he gets back and we can get back to chasing each other around the office.

If you’re thinking about updating your brochure or creating some landing pages, please, call the humans, I’m absolutely shattered.
You can contact them on 01543 387 047 or send them an email on contact@themarketingpeople.com. (Tell them I sent you, I might get treats!)

Love and licks,
Chops.

The Marketing Dogs: Print isn’t dead!

print isn't dead

print isn't dead

George is in a huff this morning, he lost an argument with Chops about print. George thinks print is dead and there’s no need for it, Chops put him right and told him;

“You can’t just use your iBone George, you need print to create a blended marketing strategy. Plus, people like holding printed things and paper’s fun to chew, you should know that.”

Who are you siding with here; Chops or George? We’re going with Chops on this one.

It’s not easy being a dog you know.
We want to know if you take your pets to work too?
